Official Contest Rules

The Synergy Healthy Transformation Challenge (the "Contest") is a contest of skill and personal effort, not a lottery, raffle, or game of chance. Under Wisconsin law (Wis. Stat. Chapter 945), an activity constitutes an illegal lottery only when it simultaneously includes (1) a prize, (2) consideration (an entry fee), and (3) an element of chance.

This Contest charges an entry fee and awards a cash prize pool. To ensure the third element — chance — is completely eliminated, winners are determined exclusively by objective, quantifiable, and verifiable physical measurements recorded by trained Synergy Wellness Center staff using calibrated equipment. No subjective judging, photo voting, random draws, or arbitrary selection of any kind is used at any stage of this Contest.

A body transformation achieved through dedicated diet and exercise constitutes a recognized contest of skill and effort under Wisconsin law. Participants control their own outcomes through their personal choices and physical actions.

All of the following conditions must be met to participate. Ineligible participants who complete registration will be disqualified and refunded their entry fee.

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of registration.
• Must reside in the state of Wisconsin or be able to complete all required in-person weigh-ins at a Synergy Wellness Center facility.
• Must have a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 20.0 and 40.0 (inclusive), calculated using height and weight recorded at Synergy Wellness Center at the time of enrollment. Participants with a BMI below 20.0 or above 40.0 are ineligible for health and safety reasons.
• Must complete a Health Screening Questionnaire prior to or at the Baseline weigh-in. Participants whose health screening indicates a condition that may be contraindicated for an active weight-loss competition must provide written physician clearance before competing.
• Must sign the Synergy Wellness Challenge Liability Waiver before or at the Baseline weigh-in.
• Employees of Synergy Wellness Centers, LLC and their immediate family members are ineligible to participate in any division for cash prizes. They may participate in the Wellness Track on a non-prize basis at staff discretion.

Competitive Track (Men's & Women's Divisions)

Wellness Track (Open Division)

Each participant's personal contest timeline begins at their individual Baseline weigh-in and runs for a fixed 42-day period (6 weeks). Participants register during the season's registration window; the season's official start and end dates are published on the Synergy Wellness website and within the platform during registration.

Required Weigh-Ins

All three weigh-ins must be completed in person at a Synergy Wellness Center facility and recorded by Synergy Wellness staff. Remote, self-reported, or at-home weigh-ins are not accepted.

Optional Additional Weigh-Ins

Participants may request additional weigh-ins ("Weekly" or "Extra" types) at any point during the 42-day window. These are used for personal tracking only and do not replace the required Baseline, Midpoint, or Closing weigh-ins for scoring purposes.

Competitive Track Scoring — ShapeScale Composite ("ShapeScore")

Competitive Track participants (Men's and Women's divisions) are ranked by a composite body composition score calculated from full ShapeScale body composition scans taken at Baseline and Closing weigh-ins. The composite score rewards genuine body recomposition — reducing fat, preserving or gaining lean mass, and improving metabolic markers — not solely scale weight.

If a participant is missing any required ShapeScale field at either the Baseline or Closing weigh-in (due to equipment error or other verified reason), they are ranked by percentage of total body weight lost as a fallback: ((Baseline Weight − Closing Weight) / Baseline Weight) × 100.

Wellness Track Scoring — Percentage of Body Weight Lost (with 2% Cap)

Wellness Track (Open Division) participants are ranked by percentage of body weight lost from their Baseline weight to their effective Closing weight. A compounding 2% cap per weigh-in interval is applied to prevent extreme short-term weight loss from dominating the competition:

The 2% cap ensures that a participant cannot receive credit for losing more than 2% of their prior effective weight in any single weigh-in interval. This cap is applied systematically and identically to all Wellness Track participants.

Tiebreaker Rules

In the event of a tie in the final computed score (rounded to two decimal places):

1. Competitive Track: The participant with the greater absolute fat mass reduction (in lbs) is ranked higher. If still tied, the participant with the greater lean mass gain (in lbs) is ranked higher. If still tied, the tied participants share the combined prize money for those positions, split equally.
2. Wellness Track: The participant with the greater absolute weight reduction (in lbs) from Baseline to Closing is ranked higher. If still tied, participants share the combined prize value for those positions equally.

Both tracks include an Engagement Leaderboard that tracks points earned for participation in Synergy Wellness services. The Engagement Leaderboard is separate from the prize pool competition. Points are awarded by Synergy Wellness staff and are logged in the platform. The top Engagement scorer at the end of the season receives recognition; specific engagement prizes are announced per season.

Engagement points have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for cash. Engagement scores do not affect a participant's placement on the Competitive or Wellness scoring leaderboards.

• ✕Failure to complete any required weigh-in (Baseline, Midpoint, or Closing) by the due date.
• ✕Use of weight-loss medications, diuretics, laxatives, or supplements in a manner that artificially manipulates weigh-in results.
• ✕Deliberate manipulation of body weight through dehydration or excessive fluid loading immediately before a weigh-in, as determined by staff observation.
• ✕Failure to meet eligibility requirements, including BMI outside the 20.0–40.0 range, or providing false information during enrollment.
• ✕Failure to sign the required Liability Waiver or complete the Health Screening Questionnaire.
• ✕Any attempt to access, alter, or tamper with the scoring platform or another participant's data.
• ✕Conduct that is threatening, harassing, or disruptive to Synergy Wellness staff or other participants.

A disqualified participant forfeits their entire entry fee contribution to the prize pool. Synergy Wellness Centers, LLC reserves the right to investigate and make final, binding determinations on all disqualification matters. No refunds are issued upon disqualification for cause.

• Prizes will be paid within 30 days of the close of the season, following verification of final scores by Synergy Wellness staff.
• Winners will be contacted via the email address on file. Winners must respond within 14 days to claim their prize or it is forfeited.
• Prizes of $600 or more require the winner to complete IRS Form W-9 before payment is issued. Synergy Wellness Centers, LLC will issue a Form 1099-MISC for any prize of $600 or more in accordance with federal tax law.
• All prizes are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes. Winners are solely responsible for reporting and paying any taxes owed.
• Prizes will be paid by check or electronic transfer at the sponsor's discretion. Cash payments will not be issued.

• Entry fees are non-refundable after the Baseline weigh-in is completed and the personal 42-day contest window has begun.
• If a participant is deemed ineligible at enrollment (e.g., BMI outside the required range), their full entry fee will be refunded within 10 business days.
• If a participant withdraws before completing their Baseline weigh-in, they may request a refund within 48 hours of payment by contacting Synergy Wellness Centers, LLC directly. Refunds in this window are granted at the sponsor's discretion.
• Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.

All disputes regarding scoring, eligibility, or prize awards must be submitted in writing to Synergy Wellness Centers, LLC within 7 calendar days of the official result announcement. Synergy Wellness Centers, LLC will review and issue a final written decision within 14 business days.

These Official Rules and all matters arising from this Contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action arising from this Contest shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in La Crosse County, Wisconsin.

By participating, each entrant agrees that any and all disputes shall be resolved individually and waives the right to bring or participate in any class action, collective action, or other representative proceeding.

By entering this Contest, participants agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Synergy Wellness Centers, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claim, loss, damage, injury, or expense arising out of participation in the Contest, including but not limited to physical injury, health complications, or equipment-related measurement errors.

Synergy Wellness Centers, LLC is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, or incomplete registrations; technical failures; or any other errors in the administration of the Contest. The sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest in the event of fraud, technical failure, or any other factor beyond its reasonable control, subject to applicable law.

Personal information collected during registration (name, email, date of birth, height, weight, body composition data) is used solely to administer the Contest, calculate scores, contact winners, and comply with legal requirements.

Participant names and scores may be displayed on the public leaderboard. Participants who have opted out of the public leaderboard at registration will appear anonymously. Raw body composition data is never publicly displayed. Data will not be sold to or shared with third parties except as required by law.

Synergy Wellness Centers, LLC reserves the right to amend these Official Rules at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the platform and via email to enrolled participants. The version of these rules in effect at the time a participant's Baseline weigh-in is completed shall govern their participation in that season's contest. The current effective date of these rules appears at the top of this page.
